lastcow > JDF (Japan) ASASHIO (SS 589) a 3200 ton diesel-electric submarine. BUFFALO hosted the Asashio. I took this photo from Hickham Air Force Base. After I took the photo I had to remove a few things, on the right side of the photo was a large monument and on the left end of the wall was a stair way and hand rail. I mounted and framed this photo and our Captain presented to the CO of the Asashio as a welcome gift. Summer 2000.
