How appropriate, the war in the Pacific started with the bombing of Pearl Harbor and Japan signed its surrender on the Deck of the USS MISSOURI. The Missouri was the last battleship ever built by the United States. It arrived in Hawaii about the same time I did for my second tour, June 1998.
